There is a saying that Zheng He had seven voyages to the West and brought back wood from the tropics, which is hard, delicate and beautiful in texture. The furniture made from it is loved by the royal family. Although there is not enough historical data to support this argument, the significance of the maritime Silk Road to classical furniture can be seen.

Whether ancient or modern, the wood used to make classical furniture mostly comes from abroad.

"In addition to red sandalwood with small leaves, red sour branches and Burmese pear, red sandalwood hedgehog, which is widely used in Xinhui classical furniture industry, also needs to be imported from abroad. Now, the classical furniture industry in Xinhui is still looking for wood to make classical furniture abroad. " Cannot do without one belt, one road is the most important part of the furniture industry. Yuan Qiuyun, chairman of Xinhui classical furniture city, believes that under the influence of "one belt and one road", the Xinhui classical furniture industry needs to embrace the world with a more open mind.
